Week 4/5 Progress
We’re about five weeks into the development of Flare, and here’s a look at where things stand in spite of our busy schedules:
Logo, Brand Imagery, Color Selection
To start off we have finalized our brands core logo, which will represent our app going forward in all marketing materials.
The core visual identity for Flare is set. We’ve finalized the imagery and color scheme, focusing on themes that resonate with the app’s wildfire prevention and awareness goals, associated with relevant imagery.
UI Design Kits & Tailwind CSS
For the design and front-end structure, we’ve selected the Shadcn UI kit to help streamline our design and development process. Tailwind CSS was also chosen to keep the design system flexible and easy to implement across different features, ensuring that the app stays responsive and efficient.
API Integration Planning
On the technical side, we’re in the process of mapping out API integrations. These will attempt to bring in real-time data like wildfire information, weather conditions, and emergency alerts, all key to Flare’s core functionality.
HiFi Prototypes in Progress
Currently, we’re working on high-fidelity prototypes. Using the selected UI kit, these designs will closely resemble the final product and give us a clearer sense of how everything will look and function when fully built.
Promotional Video in the Works
Our design team is also developing a promotional video and currently has decided on a narrative that aligns with our product values. Currently, we are in the process of storyboarding a pitch for the instructors to approve
Our goal is to complete the prototype by our next meeting to ensure our development team receives the time to work on the final product.
